Due to the pressure build-up in the container, the saturated air mixture passes through the Exhaust Filter. Its unique sorbent mixture adsorbs the harmful solvent vapors, and releases purified air from the waste container.
The Exhaust Filter has an adsorption capacity that depends on many factors (e.g.: the quality and quantity of the collected waste solvent, the temperature, pressure, humidity, etc.). The lifespan of the Vision Medium Exhaust Filter with regular daily use (1ml/min, 8 hours/day) for all commonly used chromatography solvents at room temperature is 6+ months.
Because the above-mentioned factors, we recommend changing the filter at least once in every six months. The best visible indicator that it is time to change the filter is the Timestrip sticker. After installing the filter, simply start the Timestrip sticker by slightly pushing the button until a straight red line is visible on the screen. After 6 months the screen will become fully red, so you will know to change it.
